The ideal candidate will act as a crucial liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications for our Snowflake-based EDW project.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and EDW capabilities
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for the IT team implementing the Snowflake-based EDW
  • Participate in and contribute to the EDW Governance Council, helping to establish and enforce data governance policies that balance business needs with technical constraints
  • Develop and implement change management processes that facilitate smooth transitions between business requirements and technical implementations
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, ensuring that data visualizations and reports accurately reflect business needs and support decision-making processes
  • Act as a bridge between business units and IT teams, facilitating communication and ensuring mutual understanding of requirements and constraints
  • Conduct business impact analyses for proposed changes to the EDW, considering both technical feasibility and business value
  • Assist in defining data ownership, access rights, and security measures that align with business needs and compliance requirements
  • Develop and maintain documentation that translates technical EDW features into business-friendly terms and use cases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in business analysis or similar roles within data warehouse environments
  • Strong understanding of business processes in the retail/apparel industry
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience in data governance, preferably in enterprise-level projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI or similar BI tools, with a focus on creating business-relevant visualizations and reports
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Experience in change management, particularly in the context of IT projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse solutions
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in business-IT collaboration
  • Certifications in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) or data governance
  • Experience participating in or leading governance councils or committees
