Role: Enterprise Application Architect – Commercial Capabilities
Location: Commutable to client office in Frisco, TX (3 days per week) DFW area.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Application Architect with deep expertise in Commercial Capabilities to support a strategic digital transformation initiative for a global leader in the Food & Beverage industry. This is a key contract role within the IT Enterprise Architecture team, focused on designing and optimizing core commercial systems and processes across forecasting, planning, CRM, trade promotion, and quote-to-order domains.
This role serves as a strategic partner and technical thought leader working closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, and delivery teams to shape the future-state architecture aligned to commercial growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
As the Application Architect – Commercial Capabilities, you will:
- Drive alignment between business stakeholders and technology teams to prioritize investment in enabling capabilities across Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Trade, Demand Planning).
- Define and evolve architecture strategy for commercial platforms, including but not limited to Salesforce, SAP TPM, Anaplan, Oracle Demantra, Blue Yonder, and other integrated planning/CRM systems.
- Facilitate architecture and capability workshops to define future-state solutions that support commercial excellence and revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain application roadmaps that synthesize business, information, and technology strategies into coherent, executable architectures.
- Lead the technical governance process for commercial systems to ensure architectural integrity and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Identify technology gaps and inefficiencies, and provide actionable recommendations to improve scalability, flexibility, and user experience.
- Create and maintain architectural patterns, design templates, and reusable assets to support continuous innovation and speed to market.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including external system integrators, to guide solution delivery in complex, hybrid cloud environments.
Key Requirements and Capabilities:
You bring a strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and a deep technical foundation in Commercial application architecture within the CPG sector:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and/or solution design for Commercial/Revenue Management systems.
- Demonstrated success leading architecture for solutions that span sales planning, forecasting, CRM, trade promotions, and order management.
- Expertise with CPG-industry tools and processes, including Salesforce, SAP (ECC or S/4HANA), TPM tools, trade promotion optimization (TPO), CPQ, and integrated planning platforms (e.g., Anaplan, Blue Yonder).
- Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies – Agile, SAFe, DevOps, and rapid prototyping.
- Experience architecting and deploying scalable, modern applications using cloud-native, microservices, and API-driven architectures.
- Skilled in cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and translating business strategy into actionable technical solutions.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in matrixed, global environments, with experience engaging outsourced delivery teams and systems integrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting transformation initiatives in a top-tier CPG company
- Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, Salesforce Architecture)
- Experience with integration frameworks and platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Workato)
