Job Description – SAP Basis Lead Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to join our team, with a focus on supporting and maintaining critical SAP environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, availability, and performance, while also leading issue resolution, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The consultant is also expected to serve as a technical reference, promoting knowledge transfer to other team members and demonstrating leadership in interactions with both functional and technical teams.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage SAP Basis environments, ensuring high availability and optimal system performance

Diagnose and resolve technical issues and incidents effectively

Apply system updates, patches, and corrections to ensure platform stability

Perform system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity planning

Optimize the performance of SAP applications, databases, and infrastructure

Collaborate with functional and business teams to deliver aligned solutions

Create and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, manuals, best practices)

Act as a technical mentor, supporting the development of other team members

Requirements:

Solid experience as an SAP Basis Consultant, with a strong focus on support and operations

Advanced knowledge of S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and SAP system architecture

Experience with performance monitoring and analysis

Proficiency in databases such as SAP HANA, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, and SQL Server

Familiarity with SAP tools like SUM, DMO, and SAP Solution Manager

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, or SAP Cloud)

Strong troubleshooting skills, including log analysis and issue resolution

Knowledge of high availability strategies and disaster recovery

Proven experience in technical leadership and knowledge transfer

Nice to Have:

SAP Basis or SAP HANA certification

Experience with RISE with SAP and hybrid environments

Knowledge of DevOps and SAP infrastructure automation

Familiarity with Agile methodologies applied to SAP support
